The 5 Basics of Home Organising

Create and manage a more organised and calm home by following 5 Home Organising Rules, as used by Jo Carmichael a Professional Organiser founder of All Sorted Out.

In order to create and manage a more organised and calm home, we recommend the following 5 Home Organising Rules, as used by Jo Carmichael a Professional Organiser founder of All Sorted Out:

1. Like with Like

Keeping like with like means it’s easier to put things away & find them.

2. Have a place for everything and everything in its place

Have a designated parking place like a shelf or basket, for what everything we use to make it easy to tidy up quickly. Before going to bed, try to return things to its right place.

3. Don’t put it down, put it away.

4. Limits: We can only have as many items in this room, as fit into those 2 tubs, or 2 shelves.

5. Labels helps us identify what is in a cannister, box or drawer

Can be basic or decorative, think white stick on labels, Dymo or chalkboard.
