It’s important to balance screen time with real family time, so whilst we live in a digital age, we’ve rummaged up
some ideas on how to have fun without the use of screens these school holidays.
1. Go old school and play a board game!
We love board games for a variety of reasons but the most important being, they get the whole family together! Board games ensure you hit the pause button, allowing you to make room for creating memories that will last a lifetime. Some of our favourites include the Harry Potter and Batman 4 FunkoVerse games. Both available at JB-HIFI.
2. Spark joy and declutter!
Whether it be your wardrobe, kitchen, kids bedroom or the dreaded linen cupboard, there is always room for decluttering in any busy household. We suggest you make a game out of it and get the kids involved. Set a timer and see who can tidy their toy chest the fastest! Decluttering not only makes you feel good and more organised, but it also teaches everyone the importance of donating the items you no longer need to those less fortunate.
If you have decluttered everything you can and you’re still pulling your hair out, we suggest a trip to Howards Storage. The team at Howards Storage Home HQ are hands down the best experts we know when it comes to storage and organisation.
3. Embrace your green thumb
There is nothing better than enjoying the outdoors in your own backyard. By having each family member choose a plant they wish to grow, will help encourage everyone to get involved. If you have young kids, we suggest giving them a little area of their own near where you are gardening so you can help but let them explore. Watering is a gardening ritual that everyone can enjoy, so give them the watering can so they feel they are part of what’s happening.
